Win Cash & Prizes with your Flip Digital videos (You could use any other camera, but why would you want to?)
If you live in Washington D.C. and ride the Metrobus, Metrorail or MetroAccess, make sure to take along your Flip Video Camera (or other camcorder) to document your trip on Car Free Day, September 22. The Washington Metro site says, “There are three categories participants can enter: most humorous or entertaining; most unusual or unique commute and most informative or best documentary. One winner in each category will be chosen on October 9 and receive a $100 SmarTrip card. Participants should submit a video no longer than five minutes to YouTube (www.YouTube.com) with the title “Car Free Metro.” They should also send an email with a link to the video submission to ontrack @ wmata.com. The deadline for entries is 5 p.m. Friday, October 3. Videos must be about your commute using any mode of Metro. Be creative and most of all have fun!”
The complete rules are very simple, and this sounds like such a great idea! Kudos to Washington Metro for implementing this contest, and lets hope other mass transit providers follow their example.
