Recently, I wrote about a request that NBC had put out for videos for an upcoming holiday special. After I posted, I emailed the contact person listed on their information page. I had a couple of questions, and I am happy to say that Gina answered me promptly and politely. She told me that each video aired will receive $100. I also wondered about having to mail in your entry, as opposed to uploading it to a site like many other companies do. She replied that videos must be mailed along with the completed submission form. Now that I think of it, that makes perfect sense to me. Release forms are standard practice in the entertainment industry, and of course, NBC needs your signed permission to use your videos.

Start looking at your personal collection asap because entries have to be received by October 10th. Check to see if you have something touching or hilarious to submit. Maybe you and you camera caught your dog pulling the mashed potatoes off the counter? Or perhaps you filmed your children in a Christmas pageant, doing a heartwarming rendition of “Silent Night”?

Once you’ve decided on your entry, make a copy of your entry, print out the submission form (Click here for PDF) and send both to:
