This video competition sponsored by Better Homes and Gardens Magazine and BetterRecipes.com is great for those that are creative in the kitchen. Do you make the world’s best pumpkin pie? Or do friends and neighbors beg you to make your secret barbecue sauce for special occasions?

Just use your Flip Camcorder or any other digital video camcorder to make a video of yourself preparing an original recipe that you created. Your recipe and video must be unpublished, created by yourself and may not have previously won any award or prize. Then upload a 1-3 minute video to YouTube and submit it to their contest page.

“Two finalists will be flown to Des Moines, Iowa, to compete in a cook-off in the Better Homes and Gardens Test Kitchen on October 22-24, 2008. Each will receive “a trip package to Des Moines, Iowa, for the Cook-Off, including roundtrip coach air transportation for the Finalist from major airport nearest Finalist’s residence, approximate retail value (“ARV”) $1500.00; two nights’ hotel accommodations in one standard room in Des Moines, Iowa, ARV $500.00; dinner for one person, two nights, ARV $100.00; and a check in the amount of $300; total trip package ARV $2,400.
