This video contest by Metacafe, is a “juried online and offline film festival presenting the best in international creative and contemporary short-form video entertainment.” Even if you don’t win the $5000 grand prize, MetaFest offers a wide variety of prizes to the contestants. Someone will win the $2000 cash Short-Short Award for outstanding work in a video of 3 minutes or less, as selected by Jury. The Online Audience-Choice Award, as selected by Metacafe.com viewers offers $1000 cash and dvd selections. The Offline Audience-Choice Award, as selected by attendees of the San Francisco theatrical screening also offers $1000 cash and a selection of dvds as well. There’s also an Honorarium Pool as well.

Just think, Metacafe is offering you the chance to have your creative videos seen by a worldwide audience because this is an international competition. Please note, the festival is not open to residents of Cuba, Iran, Syria, North Korea, Sudan, Myanmar (Burma), or to other individuals restricted by U.S. export controls and sanctions.
